Pre-Conference Dinner – Blackfriars Restaurant – 6th July 2010
Blackfriars Restaurant is the oldest dining room in the UK with the main restaurant originally built to house the refectory for the ‘Black Friars’ and as a working inner-city former monastery, it is unique.  The horseshoe of buildings, which also house a number of craft shops, provide shelter for the medieval courtyard used for al fresco dining in the summer.

The Alnwick Garden – Alnwick, Northumberland – 9th July 2010

Ten years ago, The Alnwick Garden site was derelict and forgotten. The Duchess of Northumberland imagined creating a beautiful public garden for families to enjoy, and from her bold vision, The Alnwick Garden project began. The Alnwick Garden is now a vibrant place, with beautifully landscaped gardens, magnificent architecture and unique features, all brought to life with water. The garden is within walking distance of Alnwick Castle, recently used as the setting for Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films.
