Chasing Dreams

Chasing Dreams was a group project in Year One of University to make a documentary about someone's life. My role was as director, but I also stepped in as producer and editor throughout the project. Because of copyright issues regarding the project, the film has not been uploaded online.

Chasing Dreams was the first documentary film I had ever worked on, and the only group film I have worked on during University. I think it was an interesting experience, but many people involved let down the group throughout. Had the people I was working with been more involved and helped with different aspects of the project, I feel it would have been a more enjoyable and fulfilling project than it was.

However the best part of the project for me was having the role of director. I enjoyed working with the people involved in making and acting in the documentary the most, and feel that even though the documentary was by no means perfect it was a strong project and had a lot of technical merit.

It also told me that while working with actors and directing is good fun, I'm much better suited to working alone or on smaller projects.. ;)
