Johnny the Giant Squid

About the Video
This video was the first from the reformed One Clone Company, which was created as a year-one animation assignment. The brief was simply a 'short animation', and due to any other ideas, I reused the idea of Johnny the Squid, changing the story a little to make it a more original concept. This video was my first attempt at stop-motion animation, and was interesting experience. The Johnny used in this video was a plush replacement from his original self, and was much easier to use as a puppet due to a lighter weight and easier maneuverability. The transforming Johnny the Squids after the scientist drops the goop were made from pieces of sponge cut into different sized "Johnny" lookalikes with eyebrows drawn on and were filmed using replacement techniques. There were 12 Johnny lookalikes in total, and each of them featured!
The role of the scientist was filled by my sister who was roped into the role when nobody else would. She wore a delightful beard and rimmed glasses and everything was filmed in one afternoon. The voice of the scientist was recorded by myself and manipulated to sound squeaky.
